Visiting Pittsburgh

Pittsburgh is within easy reach of the Pennsylvania and Ohio Turnpikes. The city is served by Pittsburgh International Airport with daily flights to and from all major airports in the United States as well as Toronto, Montreal and London. There are direct flights to Dublin and connecting flights to Ireland are also easily accessible via Boston, New York, Philadelphia and Reykjavik. Two Amtrak lines – the Pennsylvanian and the Capitol Limited train – connect the city to Chicago, Washington DC, Philadelphia and New York.

Situated at the confluence of the Ohio, Allegheny and Monongahela Rivers, Pittsburgh is a large and modern city nestled into the natural scenery of Western Pennsylvania, whether in the large parks that dominate the eastern side of the city or via the bike trails that quickly lead out of the city. The border with West Virginia is about one hour away by car, giving easy access to popular tourist destinations. The city has a thriving food scene, with each of the city’s distinct neighborhoods offering unique selections of restaurants and an active nightlife.
